Chamonix, France. A deadly weekend in the Mont Blanc massif: a 23-year-old local speed rider was killed at midday last Friday after crashing in tragic circumstances on the northern side of Aiguille du Midi, one of the most famous and steepest challenging sites in the Chamonix area.
The incident began unfolding at around 2:00 p.m. The young man's friends, who had been riding with him as part of a group, reached the landing and meeting point in the valley safely, but discovered that their friend was missing.
