Three people were killed in a plane crash in the Swiss Alps.
Three people, including two British citizens, were killed on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, when a plane crashed near the resort town of Leukerbad in the canton of Valais, Switzerland.
Among the dead was Owen Davis, a Welsh businessman who headed the family manufacturing company Amkano. The two other victims were described by the company as his close friends. The authorities have yet to officially release the identities of all those killed.

The plane took off from Lugano in the canton of Ticino, stopped at Sion Airport, and continued on its way to Buochs Airport in the canton of Nidwalden. Shortly after 4 p.m., it struck the northern slope in the area for a reason that has not yet been determined. Hikers in the area later reported heavy smoke.
Rescue teams from the Valais cantonal organization arrived at the scene using three helicopters and two rescuers. The three occupants of the plane were found dead at the crash site.
The accident site is located near Leukerbad, where the valley floor lies at an elevation of 1,411 meters. The area is surrounded by high peaks, including Rinderhorn, which rises to 3,449 meters, and Balmhorn, which stands at 3,698 meters. The Plouhalp ridge itself lies between 1,690 and 2,606 meters and overlooks the Matterhorn.
The Swiss Transportation Safety Investigation Board opened an investigation into the circumstances of the crash and its cause. At the same time, the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland is working with the Valais Cantonal Police as part of the criminal investigation.
