Fire at a ski resort in Chile: Everyone evacuated safely
A fire broke out on Sunday afternoon at the Alto Nevados Hotel, adjacent to the slopes of the Nevados de Chillán ski resort in Chile's Ñuble Region. All guests and staff were evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.

The fire, which apparently started on the hotel's top floor, prompted the immediate activation of emergency procedures. Volunteer firefighting crews from Pinto, Coihueco, and Chillán were dispatched to the scene at kilometer 85 of the road to Nevados de Chillán.
The hotel said in a statement that the safety of those on the premises was its top priority and that the evacuation had been completed successfully. Hotel staff continued working alongside the Las Trancas fire department, which arrived to bring the flames under control and extinguish them.
The resort's management also coordinated with Chile's National Disaster Prevention and Response Service and took precautionary measures in accordance with the authorities' instructions. The public was asked to rely on official announcements and refrain from spreading rumors or unverified information.
According to the latest reports, the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Authorities are expected to investigate the source of the fire once conditions at the site allow an inquiry to be conducted.
